Last updated: 30/05/2026

FlashLeaf (“the extension”) is private by default. This policy explains what it does and does not do with your information.

What we collect

Nothing on our servers. FlashLeaf has no backend, and the developer does not collect, receive, store, or transmit any of your personal data, browsing history, or study content.

Data stored on your device

The following are stored locally in your browser (Chrome storage.local) and never leave your device unless you export them:

You can delete all of it at any time by removing your decks or uninstalling the extension.

Page content

When you click “Make cards from this page” or use the right-click menu, FlashLeaf reads the current page’s text (or your selection) to create flashcards. How that text is processed depends on the engine you choose:

Third-party services

FlashLeaf contacts a third party (Google Gemini API or OpenAI API) only if you voluntarily enter your own API key and select that engine. Your use of those services is governed by their respective terms and privacy policies. FlashLeaf bundles no API key.

Data sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with anyone. We have no access to it.

Children’s privacy

FlashLeaf collects no data from anyone, including children.
