Step 2
Paste it in the popup
Click the extension icon, pick your language, paste the key, Save, then press Test API to verify it works.
Step 3
Join a Meet, turn on CC
Join a Google Meet and turn on captions from the bottom bar. The translator panel appears and starts translating live.
Troubleshooting
Turn on CC (captions) in the Meet bottom bar. The extension translates Meet's own captions; no captions = no translation. Set the caption language to the language being spoken.
Click the extension icon, paste your key, press Save, then refresh the Meet tab. Use Test API to verify the key is accepted.
Refresh the Meet tab once. The extension picks up the new settings on reload.
Wait a few seconds; the extension retries automatically on the next caption. If meetings are busy, consider a paid tier with your provider.
Drag it anywhere by its header, or press the minus button to minimize. It auto-fades when idle.
Use Google Chrome (desktop). The speak feature needs Chrome's built-in speech recognition, which is not available in all browsers.
Frequently asked questions
🛡️ Is my data safe?
Yes. The extension is BYOK (bring-your-own-key) and sends data directly to your AI provider. No servers, no tracking. Read more on the Privacy Policy.
🌐 Which browsers work?
Chrome and Chromium-based browsers on desktop. Google Meet's caption APIs work best in Chrome.
❓ Does it work on Zoom / Teams?
Not yet — Google Meet only for now. Support for other platforms may come later.
