Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 30, 2026
DigitalCube Designs ("we", "us", "our") operates the ADA Guard Chrome extension and the website at digitalcubedesigns.com (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices. By using ADA Guard, you agree to this policy.
1. Our privacy-first approach
ADA Guard is built to keep your data on your device whenever possible. Website accessibility scans run locally inside your browser using the axe-core engine. The content of the pages you scan is not sent to or stored on our servers.
2. Information we collect
a) Stored only on your device (via Chrome local storage):
- Your scan results, scan history, and accessibility scores
- The URLs of pages you scan and any sites you choose to monitor
- Your daily free-scan usage count
- A cached copy of your license status
b) Information processed by our servers:
- License key — when you activate Pro, your license key is sent to our backend (hosted on Supabase) to verify your subscription status.
- Email address & billing details — collected and processed by our payment provider, Lemon Squeezy, when you purchase a paid plan. We receive your email and subscription status; we do not receive or store your full card details.
- Monitoring alerts (optional) — if you enable site monitoring, the URL being monitored and its score may be processed to send you email alerts when accessibility issues change.
3. How we use information
- To verify your license and unlock Pro features
- To process payments, subscriptions, and refunds
- To send you monitoring alerts you have requested
- To provide customer support
- To detect abuse and keep the Service secure
4. Browser permissions
ADA Guard requests these Chrome permissions strictly to function:
- Active tab / host access (
<all_urls>) — to read the current page's HTML so it can be scanned for accessibility issues. Page content is analyzed locally and is not transmitted to us. - Tabs — to detect the active page and open report/checkout pages.
- Storage — to save your settings, license status, and scan history on your device.
- Alarms (if monitoring enabled) — to run scheduled re-scans of sites you monitor.
5. Third-party services
We rely on these trusted processors:
- Lemon Squeezy — payments and subscription management (their privacy policy applies to billing data).
- Supabase — backend for license verification and gating.
- Resend — to deliver monitoring alert emails (only if you enable monitoring).
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to anyone.
6. Data retention
Local data (scans, history) stays on your device until you clear it or uninstall the extension. License and subscription records are retained for as long as your account is active and as required for legal/accounting purposes.
7. Your rights
You may:
- Clear all local data by removing the extension
- Request access to, or deletion of, the personal data we hold (email, license records) by contacting us
- Cancel your subscription at any time via your Lemon Squeezy receipt or by contacting support
Depending on where you live (e.g., GDPR/CCPA), you may have additional rights regarding your data.
8. Children's privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
